Bathroom Sinks - An Introduction to the Different Types by Samuel Zipursky

The bathroom is one place that we take for granted in terms of design. If you actually take a little bit of time to think about it, you spend lots of time and also use this part of the house very often on a daily basis. In your bathroom area you brush your teeth, wash your face, fix your face and freshen up in the middle of the day, and more.

So where do we usually do all of these important activities? You guessed it, in front of the sink. So when you're considering remodeling or redoing some of the design aspects in your bathroom it's important to consider the sink. There are different types of bathroom sinks being sold on the market and today I wanted to introduce you to a few of them

First off there is the console lavatory sink. This type of bathroom sink is like a table where the plumbing is quite visible. It is a very roomy sink that it allows you to hang towels on the side of it, it also gives you the option of putting magazines and reading material below it and it also gives the bathroom an open and airy feeling to it making it perfect for small baths.

There is also what is known as the vanity sink. This model is the most popular and is the usual sink that most of us have at home or at work. It is a sink installed on a vanity cabinet where the sink is embedded on the counter. This model provides a great storage space in the cabinet area while at the same time providing ample counter space for your beauty, health, and bath products.

Another option you have is a pedestal sink. The pedestal model is great for small designer bathrooms as it has a lone pillar holding the sink itself. It gives off an illusion of more space and at the same time it takes you back in time and gives it that old school feeling since the pedestal was originally designed way back.

Lastly I want to talk about the vessel sink. The vessel model is a design that is very unique in style. It is similar to the vanity sink that it sits on top of a counter or a cabinet however, instead of this style being embedded; it is raised, offering more counter space to the user. Another very well designed option to look into.

So there you have it. If you are interested in sprucing up your small bathroom design or thinking about getting it remodeled then look into the sink as a starting point.
