Bathrooms from Hell by Evangeline Auld
Have you ever noticed how many homes have just the most awful bathrooms?
one would imagine the owners complete their ablutions, eyes tightly closed , and totally unaware of their surroundings.
Some people may have a very pleasant lounge , a streamlined kitchen and attractively furnished bedrooms but when it comes to the bathroom it is as if it exists in isolation .
gloomy, depressing, unkempt, neglected and usually cold , these so very necessary areas are sorely in need of a complete makeover. The bathroom experience should be pleasurable, not just something to be got over as quickly as possible because the surroundings are so inhospitable.
In a neglected bathroom, as you enter, the dreary floor covered in out of date uneven tiles sets the tone. Various articles of clothing draped over the shower rail, towels dropped anywhere and of course the plugs for bath and basin are missing. Where are they? Not apparently visible. The lack of necessary objects can prove very frustrating.
Your eye is drawn straight to the chipped, cracked and missing wall tiles, obviously caused by the broken towel rail discovered leaning in a corner. - hence the untidy towels.
If you were 10 feet tall, there might be a possibility of viewing yourself in the tiny, fly spotted mirror on the front of the old fashioned medicine cabinet. Well, now what can you do with the toothbrush? Park it on the edge of the wash basin or parked on the window ledge with the others?
As a relaxing , stress free experience, this bathroom is not to be recommended. The colour, or should I say colours, usually several of them, would also make you feel on edge , perhaps start hallucinating! It looks sometimes as if people feel that whatever paint is left over from other projects will be good enough for the bathroom, no matter how unsuitable. Badly clashing and carelessly applied, clearly in a rash moment of unfortunate D I Y. I guess that is the reason why the users are in and out of there so quickly. There can?"'""t be much desire incentive to linger more than necessary .
Updating the bathroom should not be too costly if it is managed in an organised way. Firstly you should give proper thought to what is of the most importance in terms of comfort , comfort and style. Carrying out the necessary actions steps to achieve this can be done gradually as and when funds and time allow.
If you are determined and informed this can be both an exciting and exciting experience. The feeling Your sense of pride and achievement will be lasting. Every time you visit the inviting , attractively decorated and well-designed room your very own bathroom - your desire will be to linger there with = eyes wide open.
